The Plan of Salvation

We believe the Bible makes very clear the plan of salvation. Within its pages, God has laid the groundwork and established the requirements for salvation. It is our pleasure to share with you Christ’s invitation. It begins as follows:

1. All are sinners.
Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Also see Rom. 3:10)

2. Heaven is a perfect place.
Revelation 21:27 – “And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.” (Also see Isaiah 64:6)

3. The penalty of sin is death and eternal separation from God.
Romans 6:23a – “For the wages of sin is death…” (Also see Romans 5:12)

4. Jesus took our penalty and died in our place.
Romans 6:23b – “…But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Also see Romans 5:6, 8; John 3:14-18)

5. Salvation is a free gift received by grace through faith, apart from man’s works.
Ephesians 2:8-9 – “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Also see Titus 3:5-7)

6. Salvation is received immediately after one accepts Christ’s payment as the only means which can save him.
John 6:47 – “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath [possesses now] everlasting life.” (Also see 1 John 5:11-13)

7. Salvation is eternal, never to be lost.
John 5:24 – “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” (Also see John 6:37, 39-40)

8. A Christian is “born again” into the family of God, and he is a new creature in Christ.
As a new creature, he is filled with the Holy Spirit, and given power to resist the lusts of his flesh.
2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (Also see Romans 6:4-7.)
